The EPC is proud to recognise and reward excellence in pancreatology research through a number of prestigious awards. Details on each award are provided below. Calls for applications typically open in April each year, so watch for announcements. Award recipients are acknowledged and celebrated at the EPC annual meeting.
Rudolf Ammann Award
The European Pancreatic Club is pleased to announce an annual award to support and promote research on the exocrine pancreas, encompassing both maintenance of good health and understanding of disease mechanisms. The award, valued at €5,000 and made possible by a generous educational grant from Nordmark Pharma GmbH, prioritises young investigators and requires that funded research have a clear perspective for translation into the clinic.
Applicants must submit the published paper, a summary of no more than half an A4 page outlining the research's significance, and a signed short CV. An independent EPC Awards Committee assesses all applications, and the award is presented during the annual meeting.
Awards for Best Abstracts – Clinical Science and Basic Science
The EPC recognises outstanding scientific contributions at its annual meetings through two prizes, each worth €1000:
- one for the Best Abstract in Clinical Science and
- one for the Best Abstract in Basic Science
Winners are invited to present their work in a short talk during a prominent session at the meeting, offering valuable recognition and visibility within the pancreatology community.
