From 19 to 22 March 2026, Belgrade hosted two major international pancreatology events organised by the Serbian Pancreatic Club in collaboration with the EPC, including the Belgrade Pancreatic Summit.
Over two intensive days, the summit brought together leading European and regional experts who shared insights into the latest developments in the diagnosis, management, and treatment of pancreatic diseases. The high quality of scientific exchange reflected the growing strength of pancreatology in Southeastern Europe.
A particularly significant outcome was the founding of the Southeastern European Pancreatic Association (SEEPA), established with the support of the EPC and bringing together colleagues from Serbia, Greece, Romania, Bulgaria, Croatia, North Macedonia, and Montenegro. SEEPA aims to strengthen regional collaboration, promote joint research initiatives, and improve patient care in pancreatic diseases — marking an important milestone for the future of pancreatology in the region.
