The UEG Rising Star Awards are among the most prestigious recognitions available to early-career researchers in digestive health in Europe. Awarded annually to the most promising emerging scientists, the Rising Star Award recognises early career achievements and provides a durable platform for young researchers to further develop their scientific independence.
Candidates must be UEG Young Associates (aged 40 or under), demonstrate at least one first, corresponding, or last author publication in a Q1-ranked journal, and be able to present their work in English at UEG Week. Candidates may apply up to three times and must reside or work in Europe or a country represented by a UEG National Member Society.
Selected Rising Stars receive an invitation to present in the core programme of UEG Week, including a full faculty package, and the opportunity for ongoing collaboration with UEG and the UEG Journal. Applications for the Rising Star Awards 2027 are open until 3 September 2026. Young EPC members are strongly encouraged by the EPC to consider applying.
