EGUMIPS Meeting 29th-30th September in Italy

29th Sep to 30th Jul 2022

The First Internationally Validated European Guidelines Meeting on Minimally Invasive Pancreatic Surgery will be the first opportunity in which we will see the development of the first European Guidelines in the field of minimally invasive pancreatic surgery. The meeting will take place in Brescia on September 29-30, 2022.

The new established guidelines will have the peculiarity of including separate guidelines for Laparoscopic and for Robotic pancreatic surgery, the guidelines will assess available devices in the field, their safety, validity and potential role in Pancreatic Surgery and will be developed according to scientific methodologies taking in consideration the available evidence and experts’ opinions. The scientific methodologies will be similar to those used for the successful Southampton Guidelines on Laparoscopic Liver Surgery.

We are sure of the great potentials of the upcoming meeting considering the high scientific content. This is also based on the involvement of more than 20 experts in Minimally Invasive and in open Pancreatic Surgery from Europe and 10 renowned international experts who will validate the guidelines and thus adding an international impression for future development. This huge amount of work will see the involvement of 12 PhD-students who will have the role of assessing, grading and summarizing the body of evidence available on the field, thus supporting the experts with drawing evidence-based guideline statements.

The guidelines will be developed using the SIGN methodology for the assessment of the body of evidence, the Delphi methodology for consensus and the AGREE II methodology for validation.

On September 28, the day before the meeting, the day before the meeting, we will also be hosting a European gold course in Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary (HPB) surgery in preparation for the European HPB-exam. The exam will take place on October 1, 2002 and will be run by the EAHPBA education and exam committee.
