The European Pancreatic Club, together with United European Gastroenterology (UEG), is pleased to announce NextGen Abdominal Oncology: The Ship of Theseus, an international hybrid educational think-tank taking place 8–10 October 2026 in Munich, Germany.
Taking its name from the classical philosophical paradox, the meeting explores when stepwise change becomes true transformation — spanning tumor biology, precision therapeutics, early detection, robotic intervention and integrated perioperative care in pancreatic and hepatobiliary oncology.
Designed as a small, interactive mentor–mentee format, the think-tank brings together internationally recognized faculty from institutions including Harvard Medical School/Dana-Farber, Johns Hopkins, the University of Cambridge and the Technical University of Munich with promising early-career investigators for impulse lectures, NextGen Educational Spotlights and case-based discussion. The meeting will close with the joint formulation of "10 Principles for the Next Generation of HPB Oncology."
Selected sessions will also be offered to an online cohort, and applications to join are now open!
Early-career gastroenterologists, oncologists, surgeons and translational scientists are invited to apply with a motivation letter and short CV (max. two pages combined), to be sent to info@europeanpancreaticclub.org by 28 September 2026. On-site participation is by invitation only.
